I haven’t always been a fan of olive oil, its something that I grew to love over time with much thanks and persistence from my mum. Italian food is one of my favourite types of cuisine, and I have been cooking it since I was a young girl. My mum frequently uses olive oil in her salads and in her cooking. She would always tell us how good olive oil is for our skin, body, hair, and insides. I never doubted the benefits, in the ancient times olive oil was often referred to as ‘liquid gold’ because of all of the benefits it has.
Now I am older with my own children, I find myself repeating history and giving my children olive oil because of the many benefits it has. I love Ciabatta bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil. I also add a little olive oil to my pasta once I have drained it, and just before I season it with herbs. It tastes so delicious!
